Jeremy Browne/Willi Schlüter/Insa Schulz-Heyn: Fajfisto Muzikis – Reekprenado (The Piper Just Played – Reprise / Er Spielte So Schön)

Fajfisto muzikis, ni ĉiuj lin sekvis;
Kaj kvazaŭ drogecis, farendis forir' –
Kaj ĉiuj eliris tra la muraj pordegoj,
Fordancis elurben malantaŭ la vir'.
Li gvidis l' infanojn laŭ la Vezerbordo,
Mi ne povis kuri, do mi sekvis laŭ son';
Kaj dance kaj kante ni montareniĝis –
Sed grizis la montoj sen ebla rekon'.

Aperis – jen! – ega kaj tombnigra truo –
L' infanoj plumarŝis sen ajna atent',
Jen! ili eniris, mi ne povis sekvi;
Jam antaŭ alveno fariĝis silent' –
Aŭdeblis nek fajfo, nek infanarsonoj –
La kavo fermiĝis kvazaŭ de fantom';
Forestis l' infanoj, kaj danco kaj tonoj,
La vento frostblovis; kaj for ĉiu hom' –
Er spielte so schön, wir folgten ihm alle;
Ich konnte nicht laufen, doch ich folgte dem Klang;

Sie gingen hinein, ich konnte kaum folgen;
Da schloss sich die Höhle wie von Geisterhand;

The Piper just played, the children all followed,
You couldn't resist it, you just had to go;
The children all danced right out of the city,
But I fell behind them 'cause I was too slow.
He led us away along by the river,
But I fell behind, so I followed the sound:
Still playing his pipe, he made for the mountain,
But it was so steep that I thought he'd turn round!

But then a huge stone just suddenly lifted
To show a great hole in the side of a hill;
And in they all went, and I scrambled after;
Before I could get there, the music stood still.
The music stood still before I could follow,
The air became colder and down fell the stone;
They just disappeared right under the mountain,
They left me behind them and I was alone.
